ADHD and Autism
I have extensive experience working with neurodivergence in young people and adults, including ADHD, Autism, dyslexia and tourettes. One person’s experience of their neurodivergence will not match another’s, and as human beings, we are different to each other.
Have you experienced…..
zoning out?
finding it challenging to stay in one position?
struggling to process emotions?
feeling disorganised?
hard to commit to things?
your head feels like a messy ball of wool that is hard to untangle?
a challenge to maintain friendships or relationships?
the weight of fitting into a society that may not understand?
It can be overwhelming trying to mask through school and/or work and life to “fit in”. You walk away from your day feeling exhausted, and you need your bucket filled up. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. One person may find that listening to music helps them to feel calm, while another may feel that music triggers something inside them. Inside and outside the classroom and in the community, your experiences will be personal to you. I work alongside you to understand your world from your perspective, and together we work towards finding a way forward using various tools, which may include creative approaches, postcards, and open discussions, depending on your needs and what works best for you.
I'm have specialist training in Asperger’s, Autism, and ADHD from Derby University and I deliver neurodiversity and mental health workshops designed to raise awareness, provide practical strategies, and support inclusive environments in schools, workplaces, and private practice.
With professional experience across both education settings and the NHS, I bring a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by neurodivergent individuals. Since the COVID-19 lockdown, I have seen a growing demand for supporting neurodivergent people and promoting mental wellbeing, highlighting the vital need for tailored approaches.
